My morning routine to start my day has a domino effect on how the rest of my day is going to go. If it starts positively, the good is better and the less optimal is more tolerable. If my day starts negatively, then the good can be difficult to find and the less optimal is frustrating.
Most of how we react to situations, how we feel, and what we do are the end result of our habits. They are the default actions that we take that require little or no thought. Creating a morning habit has made my days outstanding and I highly suggest it.
The morning habit system I’ve setup for myself is as follows. Wake up (hopefully because everything else depends on this one), think about the amazing things from yesterday, focus on the miracle that is around me and is me right now, ponder the incredible things I plan on doing and that are going to happen for me today, and then some calmness meditation to even me back out because I’m pretty darn stoked after all that positive energy. Then I get up and walk for a half hour on the treadmill or outside. After that, a little yoga/movement while the coffee water is warming. Then I make my coffee and drink it while I do my gratitude practice.
My morning routine is part of what makes me the happiest and most successful person I know. What do you morning habits look like? Shouldn’t you be the happiest and most successful person you know? I think so!
